MJRC has embarked on a new project, “Support to Media Reform in Lebanon to Enhance Freedom of Expression,” which is run along with Maharat and Legal Agenda, two prominent NGOs based in Lebanon. The project is funded by the European Commission.

As part of the project, MJRC established a team of leading international experts who will work together with partners in Lebanon to enhance freedom of expression through joint working groups, mentoring sessions, seminars, and research. A total of six policy-oriented papers are to be published as a result of this collaboration, focusing on topics that include protection of journalists, legal environment for media to thrive, and media governance and ownership. The first seminar organized as part of this project will be held in July in Beirut.
