As part of its strategy of building research and academic partnerships, the Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC) concluded a cooperation agreement in September 2023 with the Research Group “Political Communication and Citizenship in the Democratic Transition” at the Autonomous University of Puebla in Mexico, considered one of the top groups in the field in Mexico.

The agreement followed a meeting in Puebla between the MJRC director Marius Dragomir and academics of the Autonomous University of Puebla research group, Rubén Arnoldo González Macías and Martin Echeverria.

The agreement outlines several key areas of cooperation including collaboration and mobility of researchers from both institutions with the aim of strengthening their research lines and graduate programs, organization of academic events of common interest and participation in joint research and publication projects.

“We are honored to cooperate with such a great team of researchers from one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Mexico,” Dragomir said. “We hope this to be yet another step towards building a strong academic network that will work on developing new comparative research projects focused particularly on countries where there is need for data about media and journalism.”

The Research Group “Political Communication and Citizenship in the Democratic Transition” is part of the Institute of Government and Strategic Development Sciences at the Autonomous University of Puebla, which is one of the top universities in Mexico by QS and THE University rankings.
