Media Capture Monitoring Report Expanded to Spain
The Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC) is pleased to announce the upcoming expansion of the Media Capture Monitoring Report to include a Spanish edition, scheduled for release in autumn 2025.
Developed in partnership with the International Press Institute (IPI), this annual report assesses the extent of media capture in EU Member States and evaluates how well countries are aligning with new regulatory standards—particularly those outlined in the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA).
To date, IPI and MJRC have published reports covering seven EU countries: Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, and Finland.
The forthcoming Spanish report will be produced in collaboration with a team of media researchers from the University of Santiago de Compostela: Marta Rodríguez Castro, Martín Vázquez, César Fieiras Ceide, and Tania Fernández Lombao.
