State Media Monitor Project Expands to Four More Caribbean Countries

Following two months of research carried out by local experts and journalists, Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC) has expanded its State Media Monitor project, which researches public and state media across the world, to four more countries in the Caribbean: The Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The media organizations in the newly added country profiles can be searched geographically on the State Media Monitor website. The full 2024 Latin America and the Caribbean list is now updated, a fresh analysis of the media in the region being slated for publication in late September 2024.

As part of its 2024 update, thanks to partnerships with local journalists and academic institutions, State Media Monitor has earlier in July 2024 added three countries in West Africa, namely Cape Verde, Mali and Sierra Leone, and another three in Oceania (Fiji, Solomon Islands and Samoa).

In 2024, MJRC is growing its State Media Monitor project with 13 new countries, enlarging the project’s coverage to a total of 170 nations. The launch of the 2024 State Media Monitor overview is scheduled for the end of September.
